Our Story

Built From
Competitive DNA

Henning Marine Racing didn't start in a boardroom. It started on the water. The passion that drives HMR comes from years of competing in South Africa's inflatable boat racing scene, where the only judge is the clock and the only feedback is the hull's behavior under race conditions.

Every spec decision, every material choice, every component selection traces directly back to what works when the stakes are real. No lab testing. Race testing.

Origins
South African Racing Roots Competing on the inflatable circuit across South Africa, developing the race feedback that would eventually shape the HMR product line.
Enduro
Trans Agulhas Born The HMR Enduro is engineered specifically for the Trans Agulhas Challenge, one of the most demanding offshore inflatable races on the planet. Built for the Cape Coast's worst.
Atomic
Circuit Sprint Precision The HMR Atomic brings race-tested engineering to flat-water circuit competition, a lightweight, agile platform where every millimeter of hull geometry counts.
USA
Fort Lauderdale Expansion HMR now operates out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, one of the world's premier boating hubs, handling all North American fulfillment, setup, and delivery.

HMR builds under two race-developed models, the HMR Atomic for flat-water circuit racing and the HMR Enduro for offshore endurance racing. Both models are also available in leisure and fishing configurations. Every boat is built to order in South Africa to your exact color and component specification.
HMR boats compete on the South African inflatable racing circuit as well as in the Trans Agulhas Challenge. For event schedules and race listings, contact the HMR team directly or follow the SA inflatable racing associations for upcoming events. USA race participation continues to grow out of the Fort Lauderdale operation.
Race entry is managed through the relevant governing race body for each event. The Trans Agulhas Challenge has its own entry process. Contact the HMR team and we can point you to the right people and help you understand what boat specifications are required for your intended event.
Yes. HMR boats are sold to private owners who race them independently. Many HMR customers compete on the SA circuit and in offshore events with their own boats. HMR also provides ongoing race support and technical advice to customers who are competing. You own the boat, you run the program.
Both models are available in racing, leisure, and fishing configurations. The engineering and build quality are identical across all specs. You get race-grade construction whether you're competing or not.
Contact Roen Marinelli directly through the HMR website. All USA orders are processed and fulfilled through HMR's Fort Lauderdale, Florida operation. Your boat is built in South Africa to your specification, then shipped to Fort Lauderdale where the team installs all components, runs race-readiness testing, and delivers to your door.
HMR offers 10 standard colors across 8+ boat components. You choose a color for each component individually, creating your own race livery. View the full configurator on the Boat Configurator page.
